Melissa Toyoshima,  MTOM, Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM), L.Ac.  Board Certified Acupuncturist & Herbalist

“I strive to educate and empower my patients to make well informed decisions about their health and well-being. I use a Multi-disciplinary approach including educating, diet and lifestyle modifcations with a focus on stress reducation, in addition to acupuncture and chinese medicine.  I practice a gentle technique in order to ease my patients.

After suffering from constant GI conditions, chronic pain and an endocrine disorder during my childhood I discovered I had food intolerances and sensitivities. This information revolutionized the way I thought of western medicine, pharmacology and the way I used it.

When my doctors failed to give me the answers I needed, I turned to nutrition, herbs and acupuncture to heal. This experience and knowledge has allowed me to empathize with my patients who also suffer from chronic conditions that western medicine is not equipped to handle effectively. I know first hand how emotionally trying it can be to see numerous specialists who are unable to help you regain health and feeling a sense of hopelessness about ever becoming healthy again.

This experience is what inspired me to further my studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Nutrition with a focus on chronic disease including food intolerances/sensitivities, endocrine and metabolic dysfunction, autoimmune disease, gastrointestinal conditions and chronic pain.”

Dania VanderMeer, Board Certified Licensed Massage Therapist
Dania was drawn to massage through her experience working in an office setting for 20+ years, sitting at a desk in front of a computer monitor for extended periods of time.  Over the course of time, she experienced back and neck pain due to poor posture and sought Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Services to learn to rewire her thought processes and learn how to heal herself without relying on anti-inflammatories or other pharmaceuticals.  She would also witness the transformations that other PT and Chiropractic patients would make and when the “light” would finally come back in to their eyes after they learned how to strengthen their bodies through proper exercise techniques and guidance from a steady routine of exercise maintenance combined with massage.

A June 2012 Dean’s List Graduate of the One Year Massage Certificate Program at Central Oregon Community College, Dania is trained in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Pediatric Massage, Pre-Natal Massage and Oncology Massage. She also has formal training in Chinese Cupping, Essential Oils for relaxation, Non-Violent Communication and Laughter Yoga.

It is Dania’s passion and life goal to help clients reconnect with their inner child and create a mind body connection to integrate better health and wellness in all aspects of their lives.  Living in the present is really important.  Life is simple; we are the ones who tend to complicate it.  Stop and smell the roses, don’t just take their picture.

Dania is an active, fun loving, independent woman, who digs road trips, camping, hiking with her two dogs, yoga, skiing, snowshoeing, hot springs, dancing, going to concerts and anything outdoors
